Jeff Carter has over 30 years of operational and leadership experience in the financial services industry with Citigroup, and its affiliate CitiFinancial Credit Company. Jeff retired from Citigroup in 2010 as Vice President and Assistant Treasurer of CitiFinancial Credit Company. In this role, Jeff led its corporate treasury department providing centralized banking support for the company’s consumer finance networks in the United States, Canada & Puerto Rico (over 1,500 branches combined). He also provided daily treasury operations support to Citigroup’s Commercial Paper program and corporate funds transfers while managing the firm’s bank relationships.
A major focus of Jeff's career has been re-engineering cash management systems to improve efficiencies and reduce costs. While at CitiFinancial, he established state of the art systems to optimize the concentration of funds from operations. Prior to leaving the firm, Jeff directed the implementation of Remote Image Check Capture in CitiFinancial’s US consumer network, as well as the introduction of debit card as a payment option. He also implemented operational and financial controls to facilitate disbursement of company funds, including international and domestic high volume wire transfer operations.
Jeff has extensive experience in corporate acquisitions and restructurings, providing treasury management support for mergers with Primerica Corporation, Travelers Insurance and Citicorp as well as acquisitions of Associates First Capital Corporation, and the consumer finance operations of Security Pacific. His expertise in treasury management systems and financial controls were instrumental in the success of these strategic transactions.
Jeff received his M.B.A. in finance and marketing from the University of Maryland, College Park. He holds a B.A. in economics from McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College).
